In the blog, I think that the statement "it seems to me that _ism is offering something usful without any of them being complete or stand alone in their own right" really puts a cap on it from an educational standpoint. As in all educational curriculums, no one objective should stand alone and no one subject should stand alone. We need the integration of across-the-board curricula just like we need the integration of all of the _isms.

Once again the blog information points to the fact that we should not cater to just one of the _isms, neither should we disregard either _ism, but we need to take the best of each and use them for the educational purposes of our learners.~~~Penny

My beliefs about how people learn best:
I believe people learn best when a combination of input are available to aid with the learning. First, the learning happens as a process over time of seeing something happen or experiencing something happening and learning from the process or experience. Example: We tell little children not to touch the stove or iron because it is hot. They may stop because they recognize the word stop from another learning experience, but usually the lesson is not learned until that child actually touches the stove or iron. Now they have learned the word “hot” and when it is said, that emotion comes back into mind usually preventing the situation from being repeated with the same result—getting burned.

This brings me to an extension of the how I believe this learning occurs which is cognitive. Cognitive has to do with a person’s perception, judgment, memory, and reasoning. This makes learning something that takes place everyday for as long as a person lives, and it doesn’t always happen in a classroom.

The learning theory comprises a set of constructs linking observed changes in performance with what is thought to bring about those changes (Driscoll, 2005). Educational technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate technological processes and resources (Januszewski & Molenda 2008). I believe that the purpose of the learning theory in educational technology is so that everyone will understand that the link between the two theories is a reciprocal link fostered in enhancing both learning and technology with respect to education.~~~PENNY
